Hoima residents allege violent evictions from Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom land during Prince Okwiiri's visit

According to Nile Post, residents of Nsozzi, Lwembawo and Nyairongo villages in Hoima District told visiting Bunyoro-Kitara Prince Okwiiri Fred Mugenyi Lukyunya that government officials and alleged land grabbers had evicted them from kingdom land, demolishing homes, crops and a church, and that some residents were beaten or detained. Residents blamed former RDC Amullani Tumusiime for leading the evictions; RDC Godwin Agaliya promised to investigate, and police later arrested a man accused of extorting money from locals over land matters.
