A joint police and security operation against crime swept Kampala's central business district and parts of Wakiso (Nansana, Kira Municipality, Namugongo, Kitukutwe) around 16 February 2026. ChimpReports reported 136 suspects arrested in the Kampala CBD and 65 in Nansana and surrounding areas; The Independent reported that over 100 suspects were remanded by City Hall Court.
