Kitagwenda EC halts nomination of independent aspirant Africano Arinaitwe over missing resignation proof

The Electoral Commission in Kitagwenda District turned away independent aspirant Africano Arinaitwe, who is seeking the Kitagwenda County parliamentary seat, because he had no documents proving that he had resigned from his public service post as a teacher and assistant education officer. District Election Administrator Francis Kagoro said he must get a confirmation letter from the Chief Administrative Officer. Arinaitwe said he had resigned and expected to be nominated before the deadline.
