Labori Sub-county LC3 chairperson arrested over alleged theft of church fundraising donations in Serere

Police said the LC3 chairperson of Labori Sub-county, Haruna Onai, was arrested after church members of St Michael Atirangoto Catholic Church accused him of taking a bull, a cow and poultry donated at a fundraising held on 24 October 2025 without paying the promised money. Police said he was held at Serere Central Police Station pending investigations; according to the Daily Monitor, he is separately accused of stealing a sub-county generator, while an associate said he took the items on behalf of an unnamed parliamentary candidate.
