Mbarara court adjourns bail hearing of 38 NUP supporters for the sixth time

A Grade One Magistrate in Mbarara adjourned to 11 December 2025 the bail hearing of 38 National Unity Platform supporters, saying the chief magistrate assigned to the file was away on official duties. According to Nile Post, it was the sixth postponement; the court also declined a defence request to return the sureties' national identity cards. Relatives told the outlet the repeated adjournments were causing them hardship and said the accused were innocent.
