Mbarara court adjourns bail ruling for 38 NUP supporters after police commander objects

At the sixth appearance of 38 NUP supporters before Grade One Magistrate Alex Baguma in Mbarara, Mbarara DPC SP Kenneth Kabwigo Gumisiriza told court he still receives threats linked to the arrests and asked that bail be refused; state attorneys argued the accused could interfere with witnesses and had inadequate sureties. Defence lawyer Allan Musasire called the violence allegation an afterthought, and the magistrate adjourned the bail ruling to 22 December 2025.
