Mbarara High Court dismisses journalist Perez Rumanzi's rights case against two police commanders

Justice Joyce Kavuma of the Mbarara High Court dismissed journalist Perez Rumanzi's application against former Kabale DPC Dickens Bindeba and former Kigezi regional operations commander Abraham Asiimwe over his alleged assault and arrest in 2016. The judge ruled the case was brought against the wrong party, since when it was filed in 2017 officers were not personally liable and suits against government officers had to name the Attorney General. No order was made on costs.
