NRM's Bob Owiny declared Soroti LC5 winner; independent runner-up Vincent Enomu rejects result

Soroti District returning officer Joseph Mukwaya declared NRM candidate Bob Owiny winner of the district chairperson race with 28,224 votes against independent Vincent Enomu's 20,504, according to the Daily Monitor. Mr Enomu told the paper he rejected the results over alleged irregularities and was consulting lawyers to go to court, while Mr Owiny said he had won fairly.
