NUP supporter injured in police interception during Kyagulanyi campaign in Budadiri, Sironko

A National Unity Platform supporter, described by the Daily Monitor as a private doctor from Mbale City, was injured in Budadiri Town Council as Robert Kyagulanyi headed to a campaign rally; NUP supporters accused police of shooting him. Elgon Region police said the man was a driver who overtook the candidate's convoy recklessly, resisted arrest and suffered a head injury in a scuffle, and denied that he was shot. The newspaper reported that journalists were blocked from reaching the scene.
