Obongi candidates accuse RDC of trying to disenfranchise voters

Two Obongi County parliamentary candidates told a press briefing on 12 January 2026 that the RDC was trying to disenfranchise thousands of voters by labelling them refugees and had disrupted a rally, Daily Monitor reported. The RDC denied the claims, saying about 8,000 refugees are on the register and that police, not he, made arrests.
