Over 200 residents evicted from Kalusiina Forest Reserve in Gomba, now living in tents at a school

Humanitarian & Crises Single source Gomba 2025 (month not reported) Severity: 3/5

More than 200 residents of Kalusiina and neighbouring villages in Kigezi Sub-County, Gomba District, were forcibly evicted from land in Kalusiina Forest Reserve and are sheltering in tents at Kalusiina Government Primary School, according to Nile Post. Residents say homes were demolished at night and livestock killed. Community representatives allege that influential individuals grabbed the land despite a presidential directive allowing them to return, and are appealing to President Museveni to intervene.
