The Independent reports that police and the UPDF set up three roadblocks along the Mbarara-Masaka road in Mbarara city, at Biharwe, the weighbridge and Sanga, checking every vehicle and asking occupants to identify themselves. Zonal commander Abas Byakagaba said the checks aimed to prevent unauthorised opposition rallies, as NUP prepared to launch its manifesto in Mbarara on 7 November 2020, and warned NUP to follow COVID-19 guidelines.
