According to The Observer, police blocked the convoy of NUP presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi in Mbarara and arrested several supporters and journalists. Police said they acted against 'criminal suspects' who attacked officers, while Kyagulanyi accused the authorities of orchestrating a crackdown to stop him reaching voters.
