Police in Hoima detain five NMS and hospital staff over alleged theft of morphine syrup

Police in Hoima City detained three National Medical Stores staff and two Hoima Regional Referral Hospital store attendants after hospital security reportedly found a missing box of morphine syrup inside the NMS delivery truck. Hoima RCC Badru Mugabi said the suspects were held on charges related to theft of government drugs. NMS spokesperson Sheila Nduhukire denied any theft, saying the box was excess stock being returned to its stores.
