According to The Independent, armed police sealed off Christ the King playgrounds in Kitgum Municipality, which NUP agents had booked for presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi's campaign, and the District Police Commander, acting on the Resident District Commissioner's orders, tried to stop Kyagulanyi from entering the municipality, citing COVID-19 limits. Kyagulanyi's procession went through the town anyway, after which police escorted his team out and fired teargas at the crowd that had followed him at Corner Alango in Pandwong Division. The RDC said Kyagulanyi had departed from an earlier request to use Acaki lodge and had defied COVID-19 guidelines.
