Police search Koboko independent candidate Charles Yakani's office, seize NRM campaign materials

According to ChimpReports, police accompanied by NRM supporters searched the office of Charles Yakani, an independent candidate for the Koboko Constituency seat, and took 14 boxes of President Museveni T-shirts and 100 copies of the NRM manifesto. NRM district chairperson Lucy Afako said State Minister Evelyn Anite, who reportedly supplied the materials to Yakani rather than NRM flag bearer Charles Ayume, tried to stop the search. Anite told ChimpReports she intervened to stop police impounding the president's materials and said independents are free to campaign for President Museveni.
