Sixteen parliamentary candidates nominated on first day of nominations in Mityana District

According to Mityana District Returning Officer Charles Rebero, 16 candidates were cleared on the first day of a two-day nomination exercise for parliamentary seats at the Singo County Headquarters. The Nile Post reports that police and UPDF officers were deployed at the venue and supporters were kept out, with only candidates, nominators and seconders admitted. The returning officer said the exercise went smoothly.
