Bobi Wine says he escaped night raid on his Magere home

Bobi Wine said police and soldiers raided his home in Magere, Wakiso, on the night of 16 January 2026 and that he escaped while his wife and relatives remained under house arrest. His party earlier posted that he had been taken by army helicopter, then deleted the post; the army called that claim absurd.
