Deputy Speaker Tayebwa chairs NRM reconciliation of rival Kasambya camps after election violence

Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa hosted a meeting at his home in Kigo, Wakiso district, between Kasambya MP-elect David Kabanda and his rival Henry Muhumuza, whose campaigns the Daily Monitor reports were marked by clashes and intimidation among supporters. Mr Tayebwa said the President had asked him to reconcile the parties after an investigation, and the two men publicly shook hands. Mr Muhumuza said the elections had left supporters with losses including property.
