Electoral Commission cancels Abayita Ababiri LC1 repeat election in Katabi, Wakiso, after clashes between supporters

The Electoral Commission cancelled the repeat LC1 chairperson election for Abayita Ababiri in Katabi Town Council after confrontations between supporters of independent incumbent Abbey Ssebowa and NRM candidate Fred Mulumba Bunkedeko, the Daily Monitor reported. The returning officer announced the cancellation after some of Mulumba's supporters reportedly breached a barrier into the polling area; Ssebowa alleged people entered carrying voting slips already issued. One EC official was injured, and residents accused security personnel of interfering, which the Monitor could not verify.
