The Electoral Commission resolved at its meeting of 23 December 2025 to reverse the Nakaseke District Returning Officer's nomination of NUP candidate Geofrey Kayanja for Nakaseke North. According to the EC statement, six of the ten registered voters supporting his nomination had not signed, and the EC said Kayanja conceded this at a hearing. Daily Monitor reports NUP leaders accuse the EC of political bias in disqualifications of opposition candidates.
