The Electoral Commission released its programme for a by-election to fill the Adjumani West parliamentary seat, left vacant after the death of MP Gen Moses Ali on 18 July 2026, according to ChimpReports. The schedule runs from a voters' register update on 5 to 7 August to nominations on 7 and 8 September and polling on 17 September 2026, with a separate poll for the Female Older Persons Councillor for Pachara Sub County on 16 September. Commission spokesman Julius Mucunguzi said the exercise would be held within the period the law requires.
