According to the Daily Monitor, government officials handed over sites for World Bank-funded Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area Urban Development Programme roads in Wakiso District, worth about Shs113 billion, to two Chinese contractors. At the ceremony in Kajjansi Town Council, Ministry undersecretary Monica Edemacu said the contractors' machinery and vehicles would be inspected by the Inspectorate of Vehicles before work begins to avoid delays. Wakiso District Chairperson Matia Lwanga Bwanika asked the contractors to maintain feeder roads before construction starts.
