Gulu court grants bail to NUP Northern Uganda deputy president Dr Lina Zedriga

The Independent reports that Gulu Chief Magistrate Augustine Alule Koma granted Dr Lina Zedriga, NUP Deputy President for Northern Uganda, cash bail of one million shillings, rejecting prosecution objections to her four sureties. She is charged with inciting violence, allegedly in December 2025 in Omoro, Nwoya, Amuru and Gulu City, and is due back in court on 24 March. NUP Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya said she had been held in what the party considers illegal detention.
