Gulu court remands NUP's Lina Zedriga to 24 February as State seeks time to verify bail sureties

The Chief Magistrate's Court in Gulu further remanded NUP Deputy President for Northern Uganda Dr Lina Zedriga until 24 February 2026, granting the State's request for time to verify the four sureties her lawyers presented in a bail application. The morning session, held by video link from Gulu Main Prison, was adjourned over connection problems, and she was later produced in court in person after the defence asked for it. She faces a charge of inciting violence, which she denies; the prosecution alleges she urged violence against NRM supporters in Northern Uganda in December 2025.
