High Court at Patongo dismisses Odonga Otto's application to recuse judge in Aruu County election petition

According to the Daily Monitor, acting Judge Fatuma Nanziri Bwanika of the High Court at Patongo dismissed former Aruu County MP Samuel Odonga Otto's application asking her to step aside from his petition against the January 15, 2026 parliamentary election result. The judge ruled that Otto had not shown actual or apparent bias, noting the application was filed only after the trial ended on September 21. The petition, in which Christopher Komakech was declared winner, continues before her, with judgment scheduled for November 5, 2026.
