State Minister for Northern Uganda Rehabilitation Beatrice Akello Akori, in a letter dated 7 August, directed Agago District leaders to work with MPs to review the list of students selected for a State House scholarship scheme for Acholi by 14 August. According to the Daily Monitor, the lists have drawn complaints that beneficiaries included relatives of vetting teams and political loyalists; Kilak North MP Anthony Akol said communities had raised such concerns, and Agago district chairperson Wilson Otto said on Monday that the district had discarded its list over irregularities.
