Justice Karoli Lwanga Ssemogerere of the High Court in Entebbe sentenced a 55-year-old land dealer to a total of eight years in prison after convicting him on 15 May on two counts of obtaining money by false pretences over land in Zziru village, Wakiso District, which the court found belonged to the Registered Trustees of Kampala Archdiocese. The judge described the repeated resales as racketeering and said Local Council leaders not before the court had helped validate the transactions.
