High Court in Iganga sentences LC1 chairperson and seven others to death over Namayingo mob killing

Justice David Batema of the High Court sitting in Iganga convicted eight men, including the LC1 chairperson of Bukewa Central Zone, on two counts of murder and sentenced them to death. The case concerned the mob killing of two fishermen in Namayingo District in August 2024; the ODPP said the sentence signals that mob justice will be punished.
