Police in Iganga arrest town council accountant accused of impersonating assistant RDC to extort civil servants

Police in Iganga District arrested an assistant accountant at Bugweri Town Council, accused of posing as an Assistant RDC by phone. Busoga East police spokesperson Michael Kasadha said the suspect asked civil servants under anti-corruption investigation for Shs100,000 to Shs300,000 each, promising to have their cases dropped. Police said he would face charges of impersonation and obtaining money by false pretences.
