House of Rubanda LC5 councillor and campaign coordinator set on fire at night; son injured

The home of Rubanda District LC5 Councillor Obed Mutatiina Kitabutuuka was burnt overnight, destroying household property, and one of his sons was partly burnt while the family escaped through windows, according to ChimpReports. The councillor said he suspects the attack is linked to his campaigning for Woman MP aspirant Evelyn Ninsiima Kikafunda; police had not established the cause or identified suspects. The Assistant RDC said security agencies had opened investigations.
