Theft suspect dies after falling unconscious in Rubanda Central Police Station cells

A 26-year-old man held on a theft allegation died after he became unconscious in the cells at Rubanda Central Police Station, ChimpReports says. Kigezi regional police spokesperson Elly Maate said other detainees told the guard that the man was unwell, and he was taken to Muko General Hospital and then referred to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police say they have opened an investigation, and a postmortem is to establish the cause of death.
