Independent candidate Eunice Tworekirwe Kansiime withdraws from Bushenyi Woman MP race

Eunice Tworekirwe Kansiime, a nominated independent candidate for the Bushenyi district Woman MP seat who describes herself as an NRM supporter, announced in a statement that she was leaving the race. According to ChimpReports, she said senior NRM leaders at the party secretariat and in the district had asked her to withdraw to avoid dividing NRM supporters against the party flag bearer. She rejected as false reports that the Bashaasha family, into which she is married, had tried to stop her from running.
