Kajjansi bricklayers accuse self-styled State House operative of assault and extortion; SHACU says it will investigate

Bricklayers in Kajjansi Town Council accuse a man who presents himself as a State House operative of seizing their tools, demanding money for their return and, in one case, injuring a worker, while allegedly letting wealthier people fill in wetlands. Some also allege that officers at Kajjansi Police Station refused to record their complaints or asked for money. The State House Anti-Corruption Unit said it has no record of the man and promised to investigate, and the Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson told victims to report to Nateete Police Station.
