Kisoro court dismisses vote recount application over Bufumbira South parliamentary result

The Kisoro Chief Magistrate's Court dismissed independent candidate Sam Kwizera Bitangaro's application for a recount in Bufumbira South, where NRM's Alex Niyonsaba Seruganda was declared winner with 23,897 votes to Bitangaro's 22,913. Bitangaro's lawyer cited alleged arithmetic inconsistencies on declaration of results forms; the magistrate found the evidence insufficient to justify a recount, ChimpReports said.
