River Mucha Bridge collapses, cutting Kisoro road to Bwindi's Rushaga and Nkuringo sectors

According to ChimpReports, the Ministry of Works and Transport said in a Saturday statement that the River Mucha Bridge had collapsed and the crossing could not be used, cutting the direct road from Kisoro to the Rushaga and Nkuringo sectors of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The ministry sent traffic onto a murram diversion via Karengyere, Nyanamo and Rubuguri, which it said would add about 30 to 45 minutes, and said its technical team had begun emergency works without giving a repair timeline.
