Kisoro NRM leadership bars independents from party symbols; meeting ends in dispute

The Daily Monitor reports that at a meeting at Kisoro District Council Hall, NRM district chairperson Philemon Mateke had a letter from the NRM Secretary General read out barring independent candidates from using party symbols and colours. Independent candidates including MP John Nizeyimana Kamara rejected the directive, and aspirant Leo Mfitimana alleged that minors voted in the party primaries; the meeting ended without a resolution.
