Military and police deploy around Robert Kyagulanyi's Magere home ahead of his presidential nomination

ChimpReports reported that residents of Wampewo, Kasangati and Magere woke on Monday to find soldiers, police and plain-clothed security personnel deployed near the home of NUP presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) a day before his nomination. Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson Patrick Onyango said intelligence officers were gathering information because Kyagulanyi had said he would mobilise a nomination procession, which police described as illegal. Police had also written to Kyagulanyi on Sunday prescribing his route to the Kyambogo nomination venue, which he said he would follow.
