MP James Kakooza asks Wakiso High Court to dismiss election petition over late service

Central Region MP for Older Persons James Kakooza, through his lawyer Apolo Katumba, raised a preliminary objection before Justice George Okello of the High Court in Wakiso, asking for the election petition against his victory to be dismissed. The lawyer argued that the court lacks jurisdiction because the petition was served outside the statutory seven-day period. The petition arises from the 2026 parliamentary elections.
