According to ChimpReports, President Museveni met Losang Jamcan, special envoy of Chinese President Xi Jinping, at State House Entebbe, where the envoy delivered Xi's congratulations on Museveni's re-election and inauguration. Both sides spoke of strengthening bilateral ties, and Museveni said Uganda, as chair of the Non-Aligned Movement, had been pressed by global powers to take sides on Iran but had advocated dialogue.
