NEMA inspects Kajjansi wetlands after minister orders probe into alleged degradation in Wakiso

After a resident petitioned Local Government Minister Balaam Barugahara on August 27, 2026, the minister directed NEMA to investigate allegations that district officials, backed by police, helped investors dump sand in wetlands in Katabi, Bwerenga, Kasenyi and Kajjansi.
