Night military raid on Kyagulanyi's Magere home; his wife Barbie Itungo reports assault and is hospitalised

According to the Daily Monitor, the military raided the Magere home of NUP leader Robert Kyagulanyi (Bobi Wine) on the night of 23 January 2026, and his wife Barbie Itungo was hospitalised afterwards. Itungo accuses the attackers of molesting her, and Kyagulanyi criticised the police, the Uganda Human Rights Commission and the Inter-Religious Council for saying nothing about it. CDF Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba denied on X that soldiers beat her.
