NRM Central Executive Committee endorses Jacob Oboth Oboth for Speaker and Thomas Tayebwa for Deputy Speaker

The ruling NRM's Central Executive Committee endorsed Defence Minister Jacob Oboth Oboth for Speaker of the 12th Parliament and incumbent Thomas Tayebwa for Deputy Speaker at a meeting at State House Entebbe, according to ChimpReports, citing sources familiar with the closed-door meeting. The sources said the meeting was chaired by President Museveni as NRM National Chairman. The party had not issued an official detailed statement by Friday evening.
