NUP calls off charity distribution in Magere, Kasangati, citing heavy security deployment

The National Unity Platform cancelled a planned distribution of food and household items to residents observing Lent and Ramadan, part of which was to take place in Magere, Kasangati Town Council. NUP deputy president John Baptist Nambeshe told the Daily Monitor the decision followed warnings from security sources and a sudden deployment of security personnel.
