NUP flag bearer Joshua Tumukunde withdraws from Igara East parliamentary race, citing lack of funds

Joshua Tumukunde, the National Unity Platform (NUP) flag bearer for Igara East Constituency, withdrew from the 2026 parliamentary race in a letter to NUP president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, according to ChimpReports. In the letter he gave financial constraints as the reason and said he would keep working for the party and offering free legal help to political prisoners.
