NUP MP Charles Matovu and campaign team assaulted by men in uniform in Busiro South

Busiro South MP Charles Matovu (NUP) and close to twenty members of his campaign team were attacked at night. According to NUP Secretary General Luis Rubongoya, soldiers intercepted the group, whipped them for several hours, insulted and robbed them, and the victims were being treated at Mengo Hospital. NUP spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi accused people in police and army uniforms of targeting opposition leaders.
