According to the Daily Monitor, NUP vice president for Buganda and Butambala County MP Muwanga Kivumbi was attacked by NRM youth members at the district headquarters after he entered a meeting they were holding at the Resident District Commissioner's office. He was reportedly rescued by Assistant RDC Kenneth Twenyumize. Ms Namboowa said his entry was misread and played down reports that he was seriously hurt, while an NRM member said the group would not accept him at their planning meeting; police said no case had been filed.
