PM Nabbanja hands rehabilitated Kiteezi landfill back to KCCA, saying it is not yet safe to reopen

Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja handed the rehabilitated Kiteezi landfill back to the Kampala Capital City Authority. ChimpReports says KCCA and UN-Habitat carried out the work with a US$1.5 million grant from the Government of Japan, after the site's deadly collapse in 2024. Nabbanja said the landfill was not yet safe to reopen and that more funding was needed to finish the remaining work.
