Police shoot dead suspect who allegedly resisted arrest in Gayaza Sub-county, Kyankwanzi

Police officers from Gayaza police station shot a 40-year-old man who later died, after going to his home to arrest him over allegations of threatening violence and assault. According to Wamala Regional Police spokesperson Lameck Kigozi, the man attacked the officers with a spear, stones, pangas and a hammer, injuring a sergeant, and was shot in the leg after warning shots; he died hours later at Gayaza Health Centre III. Police said an investigation was opened.
