Sembabule residents camp at district lands office, alleging extortion by lands officer

A group of residents from Kitahira Village, Mitima Sub County, gathered at the Sembabule District lands offices, saying they had each paid about Shs3 million to senior lands management officer Emmanuel Champion Kananura in 2024 for land titles they never received. The Resident District Commissioner said the titling programme was free of charge and that complaints against Kananura had risen to 87.
